UTRGV MEN’S BASKETBALL EARNS THREE NABC HONORS COURT DISTINCTIONS

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Thursday that forwards Daylen Williams and Dima Zdor and guard Will Johnston are part of the NABC Honors Court after competing as part of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men’s basketball team and earning a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 during the 2022-23 season.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

1. Academically a junior, senior, or graduate student and a varsity player.

2. Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year.

3. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with an NABC member coach.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Williams, a double major in sociology and management, is set to return to the team for his final season in 2023-24. Zdor is expected to complete his Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics this summer.

Williams, Zdor and Johnston all earned Academic All-WAC honors. Zdor was also part of the AD honor roll during both the fall and the spring while Williams earned the honor in the spring.
