Sabercats knockout Donna High in first round of Vail Classic, fall to McAllen Memorial in second round

In first round action at the 90th Annual CE Vail Basketball Classic the Sabercats met up with the Donna High Redskins and defeated them to advance to the second round.

in the second Sabercats squared off with the McAllen Memorial Mustangs. In that match the Sabercats went up by six 12-18 in the first period.

The Mustangs cut the Sabercats lead to one 17-18 before the end of the first.

And the rest of the half each team traded blows, and ended the first half action the Sabercats kept a one point lead 37-38.

In the second half the Mustangs took the lead for the first time of the contest at 39-38. The lead would change back and forth three times before the Mustangs pulled away and won the game 65-60.
