Bragging rights are on the line with the RGV’s latest table tennis tournament that will be happening at this Palmas Community Center this Saturday.

“Speed, spin, and skill will be on display as the game of ping pong turns into the sport of chess at 60 mph,” said Steve Cadwell, a participant in the tournament.

Twenty skilled players are signed up to play in the tournament that is being dubbed “The McAllen Fall Open” Tournament. The tournament will be happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palmas Community Center on Saturday, December 11.

Organizers said the deadline to participate in the tournament has passed, but a Spring tournament is in the works that will be open for beginners interested in playing in the table tennis tournament.

The event is open to the public. The Las Palmas Community Center is located at 1921 N 25th St, McAllen, TX 78501
