BOULDER City, Nev. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s golf team finished in 18^th place to wrap up The Clash at Boulder Creek on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.  

The Vaqueros posted a final round 299 to finish with a three-round score of 897. UTRGV finished one shot behind Southern Utah for 17^th. 

Freshmen Natalia Rodriguez and Preston Saiz led the way for the Vaqueros as they both finished tied for 48^th with three-round scores of 221. Both Rodriguez and Saiz posted final round scores of two-over 74. 

Freshman Camilla Herrera and senior Mercedes Vega both tied for 82^nd with a three-round score of 228. Herrera posted a final round 77 while Vega turned in a two-over par 74. Junior Cristina Galban finished tied for 99^th with a three-round score of 238 after a final round 82. 

Long Beach State won the team title with a three-round score of 839 after posting a final round 285. San Francisco’s Riana Mission won the individual title with a three-round score of 205 after a final round 69.  

The Vaqueros will be back in action on Friday when they compete against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a match play event at 2 p.m. at McAllen Country Club.
