UFO Festival Set to Bring Out-of-This-World Fun to Edinburg Nov. 20–22
EDINBURG — The City of Edinburg is gearing up for one of its most popular annual traditions as the UFO Festival & Conference returns Nov. 20–22, promising a weekend filled with science, mystery, and family-friendly entertainment.
This year’s festival will span three days and feature a mix of community events, national speakers, live entertainment, and activities celebrating Edinburg’s long-standing fascination with the unexplained.
A Three-Day Extraterrestrial Experience
Festivities kick off Thursday, Nov. 20, with a UFO Open Mic Night at the Edinburg Arts, Culture & Events Center. Residents will take the stage to share musical performances, poetry, storytelling, and creative works inspired by the wonders of outer space.
On Friday, Nov. 21, the conference portion of the festival brings the Ancient Aliens Live Tour to Edinburg, featuring well-known personalities from the History Channel series. Experts, researchers, and special guests will offer presentations, panel discussions, and opportunities for fans to meet the speakers.
The main UFO Festival takes place Saturday, Nov. 22, at Promenade Park Amphitheater, beginning at 5 p.m. The free event will welcome families for an evening of live music, vendors, food trucks, crafts, games, and cosmic-themed attractions. Highlights include a laser light show, costume contests for adults, kids, and pets, and various interactive performances.
A Tradition Rooted in Local History
Edinburg’s festival pays homage to one of the region’s most memorable stories — a widely reported 1966 sighting in which construction workers claimed to witness a large, cigar-shaped craft hovering north of the city. Over the years, the event has become part of local folklore and now serves as inspiration for a celebration that blends curiosity, culture, and community pride.
Boost for Local Arts and Economy
Organized by the Edinburg Cultural Arts Division, the UFO Festival has steadily grown in popularity, drawing visitors from across Texas and beyond. Local businesses, artisans, and food vendors are encouraged to participate, and organizers expect strong turnout once again this year.
Free to the Public
Saturday’s festival is free, while tickets are required for Friday’s conference events. VIP packages and general admission seating are available. For vendor information or ticket details, residents can contact the Edinburg Cultural Arts Division at (956) 388-8224 or email arts@cityofedinburg.com.
With entertainment, education, and a dash of the unknown, this year’s UFO Festival promises another memorable weekend for Edinburg residents and visitors alike.
