Larry Esparza pushes voter turnout as early voting ends Friday for Hidalgo County Probate Court No. 2 race
With early voting for the March 3 primary election drawing to a close, candidate Larry Esparza is urging voters to make their voices heard as they choose who will serve on Hidalgo County Probate Court No. 2.
Early voting in the 2026 Joint Primary Election ends Friday at 7 p.m. After a two-week period that started Feb. 17, voters will have one more opportunity to cast their ballots in person today, and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. before Election Day on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, when polling locations will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. statewide.
Esparza, a longtime community advocate, said he is focused on earning voters’ trust on issues that matter in probate court, where cases involve estates, wills, guardianships and mental health matters.
“Serving on probate court is about helping families through some of their most challenging times,” Esparza said. “I’m committed to fairness, transparency and making the legal process more understandable for everyone who comes before the bench.”
He encouraged voters who haven’t cast their ballots to take advantage of the final polling hours this weekend or to make a plan to vote on Election Day.
Primary elections like this one help determine which candidates from each party will advance to the general election ballot later this year.
Larry Esparza was among several local and regional candidates invited to connect with voters at the Get Out the Vote Cookout “Carne Asada,” hosted by Edinburg Mayor Omar Ochoa and Steve Cruz of CB3 in Edinburg. The community event brought together residents for food and conversation while encouraging civic participation ahead of the election. Candidates in attendance included Jasmine Crockett, Dr. Ada Cuellar, Katherine Garcia, Victor “Seby” Haddad and others, giving voters an opportunity to meet those seeking office and learn more about their platforms in an informal, neighborhood setting.
