Edinburg CISD Reorganizes School Board Executive Committee
EDINBURG, Texas – During its regular board meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Edinburg
Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees reorganized its executive committee for the
2025–2026 term.
The Board elected Xavier Salinas as Board President, Carmen Gonzalez as Vice President, and Letty
Flores as Secretary. The reorganization follows the District’s annual practice of selecting leadership roles
to guide the board in its mission of supporting academic excellence, student success, and community
engagement.
“I am honored to serve as Board President and look forward to working alongside my fellow trustees, our
dedicated educators, and our community to ensure we are doing everything we can to put our students
first and help our district thrive,” said Salinas. “Together, we will focus on strengthening student
achievement, expanding opportunities, and ensuring our schools remain a source of pride for Edinburg.”
The Edinburg CISD Board of Trustees meets regularly to set district policies, oversee budget and
operations, and ensure the continued success of more than 33,000 students across all campuses.
